A century backlog in devil/demon butchering. I wonder if it will spill over into the Realms. They could probably make a very cool mid to high level adventure out of that story. |

I honestly wish they had just incorporated Spelljammer into the planes, that's what I did. I use Spelljammers as ways to sail across the Astral Sea, and visit points of interest there, certain planes, and other Prime Worlds.
I'm not sure what this means for the Realms, though. Does this mean that the old Spelljammer stuff is going to be retconned out of the setting? (I'm not really opposed to it, as I don't think it fits very well.) |

Not much to go on in that little article but it sounds good. I like the return of the Blood War and Planescape but I see no real reason to downplay the Spelljammer setting. I wasnt a big fan of it...but if the goal is to make all of their concepts mesh easily with each other then just fit it in like they did in 2e. I don't see retconning it out of the setting as a viable option. It drops too much of the lore IMO (and folks dont have to use it if they dont want too).
Frankly, my main concern is exactly HOW they are going to make all previous editions 'compatible' given that 4e is rather different from the first 3 editions and magic changed (became weaker) with each edition. We shall see. |
