What Paladin orders belong to the Female Goddesses of Faerun?

What Goddess do they follow?

Where are their primary strongholds?

How old are they; and what are their origins?

Please, feel free to include any information you have...no matter how trivial it may seem.

Also, while I have the "Big Three God Books" please don't reference only page numbers of those wonderful tomes as currently they are packed away...and I'm trying more here to not only avoid going into storage; but encourage conversation also.

Thanks a ton!

well.....

the order of the red falcons, i think it was worship the red knight.

Siamorph(sp??) has one, i forget its name though. golden cup or something

mystra has the knights of the mystic fire, but she is dead now so the knighthood if it still exists worship selune or one of the other gods.
betting though its defunct.

selune has the knights of the blue moon jointed with mystra before the plague, now hers altogether.

she also had one joint with clangeddin, which is likely to be defunct in 4e.

Mielikki has one, but i forget its name too.

sorry im not much help, my books are away, and i have to get ready for work

why is being a wizard like being a drow? both are likely to find a dagger in the back from a rival or one looking to further his own goals, fame and power

Sune has paladins.

Erm... not to be picky or anything, but I wasn't aware that goddesses were anything but female...

Rinona? Other female contributors? Your thoughts?

( Sorry; I've been awake for far too long.)

Playing in the Realms since the Old Grey Box (1987)... and *still* having fun with material published before 2008, despite the NDA'd lore.

That's a little difficult, not to mention restrictive, since most of the references we have to paladin orders exist in those three sources.

I meant to talk about what you find on the pages, and not simply reference the page number; i.e. "Sune's Paladins on page xx"

Ah, I got you! I'm currently operating on only three hours sleep over the last two days, so I'm a little off at the moment.

I would recommend that you get those books out of storage. I don't have my copies at the moment either, and I'm stewing over it every minute of my attempts to develop my alternate Realms timeline. I've found the Villains' Lorebook as a free PDF download on wizards.com, but the Heroes' Lorebook and the three god books are the ones I really want to have... which probably explains why they're not on the site as downloads. I wouldn't mind having the OGB either... again, in storage, just like all of my pre-3E Realms stuff, and in another city, no less.

okay out of champions of valor:
Order of the Red falcons/The Red Knight
berronar's Valkrie/ Berronar Truesilver
Order of the Crescent Moon / Selune ( or clangeddin but he is a male dwarf)
The Knights of the Mystic Fire/Mystra ( maybe Defunct or they worship selune now)
Sisters oand Brothers of the Ruby Rose / Sune
Field Guardians/Chauntea
Order of the Silver Chalice/Siamorphe
Sacred Shields of Berronar's Blessed/ Berronar Truesilver
Shields of Yondalla/ Yondalla( in 4e itss chauntea, but chauntea and yondalla are not the same deity i dont care what they say)

some are paladin orders and some are knighthood orders.

and that one of mieliki's was named in the F&A book, i think its still around, but alas that copy of the book of mine is put away elsewhere from the third edition books.

I'm aware that Sune has paladins (who, by the way, still have to be Lawful Good--at least in 3E--even though their goddess is Chaotic Good). That said, I don't recall any further details and don't have access to my books right now...sorry.

Doh, I couldn't help but think that "laying on hands" may mean something VERY different for Sune's paladin order.

Hence the reason I've always liked the Arcana versions of CG, CE and LE paladins. Just makes sense to me that the four extremes should all have paladins.

I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

Depending on how you define it, the Darksong Knights of Eilistraee presented in Champions of Valor (p 38) could also be considered a "knightly" order. Without reference to the book, they are basically fighters with a dance-based fighting style and favored enemy: yochlol.

And don't forget one of my favorite paladin orders: The Eternal Order (Kelemvor), whose duty is to hunt down and destroy powerful undead creatures (CoV, page 39).

Paladins and clerics of Sune in my home games tend to lay on hands/cure wounds by kissing, rather than simple touching . . . unless they're feeling particularly friendly.

As related to the "Amazons" of Ixinos, which Goddess do you all think would be most likely to have an order of Paladins?

I wonder what's the scribes' take on the Order of the Crescent Moon? An knightly order of Selūne and Clangeddin with paladins in its ranks. The entry in Champions of Valor clearly suggests there are paladins of both deities. However, Selūne is Chaotic Good and supposedly doesn't have paladins. (As Sune is mentioned as the only exception.) Do you think there is a mistake in CoV, a mistake in other sources, or some other explanation?

oh im sure its a mix up.

on the otherhand, maybe someone put it in and were thinking of their house rule that Selune can have paladins.

my house rule includes corellon larethian being able to have paladins.
