Didn't even know Helm was called that.
No, this 'Watcher' is not a god.
Nor is he a bald-headed giant living on the moon. |

I thought about posting that, but thought better of it.

Heh. You've got me thinking on this, and at such an early point in the morning too. You're a fiendish one, Markus. |

I have an idea about what Rauthaven is famous for. It's just some vague hint of a memory or maybe I dreamt it or I'm confusing it with somewhere else.
Does it have something to do with Spelljammer? |

Correct - the father of the Seven Sisters.
As for the other, Gang Falconhand was on the right track, but I'm afraid I've never read Into the Void.
The city of Rauthaven is mentioned briefly on pg.50 of Greyspace, of all places!
Thanks to The Sage's bit I just now realized it is on Nimbral! The single sentence in that source is in reference to a mineral known as Ginsel Marble, which apparently is - or was - being imported by the "city of Rauthaven on Toril", and supposedly an entire wall of the palace is made of the stuff (which is considered mere rumor by Spelljammers, since the cost would be astronomical).
The floor belongs to Sage. |

Ah. I remember it now -- because I ran an entire year-long campaign in Costepen back in '01.
Congrats on utilising such an obscure reference, Markus.

You never read Ed's "Realmslore" articles on Nimral? He briefly covers Rauthaven there.

Yes, Sage had the right of it. It was/is Dornal Silverhand. He was put into quite a bit of 'distress' over what happened to his wife and children, and lead a lonely and bitter existance for many years. After his death, Mystra 'rewarded' him (because he asked her forgiveness) by turning him into a unique type of Shadowstaff, called The Watcher.

The problem was that when I came across that bit in Greyspace, I went looking for Rauthaven on the FR map (it sounded familiar), but couldn't locate it anywhere. My mistrake was that I was looking on the official 3e map... which left-off Nimbral.
Your mention of Gnomes immediately lead me straight to my own Nimbral Map.
...where I believe I mispelled it Rauthhaven... need to check that...

Indeed. And it now turns out that the question I wanted to ask is very much related to another question asked not to long ago. So I think maybe I should go with something else. And I've already got an idea on what it'll be. I just need to find the source.
Back soon.

No, but the source I need is currently at a friend's house. I'll have access to it later, so expect the next question sometime today [my time].
Didn't we get a similar promise a few days ago? |

Okay question time. Unfortunately, I didn't have an opportunity to access the source I was hoping to use, so rather than keep the rest of you waiting, I'll just throw this quick question out there:-
Where is the Grove of Meditation and what makes it so special? |

Grove of Meditation is a chinese monastery.
Ok.. On the Realms, The Grove of Meditation is a stately circle of pine trees that have proven of great help to elven magic-users. Its related on the Darkwalker of Moonshae.
It helps elven mages to increase the power of their spells/rituals. |

(Unfortunetly, I don't have source books here to check exactly where it is... "Moonshae" is enough?) |

Thanks Sage!
My question: Which war/battle is this?
The queen of one of the sides ruled for seven years. She died at the end of the war. The winners, with their leader that turned to be the First King, created one of the most famous "good region" of Faerûn. |
