I plan on playing a Gold Dragon in the near future. is there any stats for dragons above ECL 20?

if not, can someone help me with what the LA would be?

P.S: I have the Draconomicon, it's not in there.

So, then DM's if they allow it, should just make it up?

No LA means can not be a PC, design team just did not want huge PCs

This is an interesting question. You have follow the mode desribed by the example in the text as long as possible, I presume. And if your are getting too old, you will be no longer suited to fit into a party of PC adventurer because your are becoming to powerfull, I think.

No, 21: (P. 144) "When Keryst turns 6, he becomes a very young dragon and he must advance another dragon level. ... he is still a 5th-level-paladin, and his level adjustment is still +4, so he is now a 21st-level character". You have to look into the text, not into the tables.

The 3.5 Draconomicon has rules for playing epic level dragons.

Hmm, the SRD only has LA for up to Young 14 Monster Hit Dice, LA +6
Hit Dice (hp) 14d12+42 (133)
Str 25 Dex 10 Con 17 Int 16 Wis 17 Cha 16
Base Attack/Grapple +14/+25
Attack +20
Fort Save +12
Ref Save +9
Will Save +12
Breath Weapon (DC) 6d10 (20)

To get to level higher add classes instead of monster hit dice and add adjustments that come from class, add feats, skill points and stat boost the same as any other character.

Now the SRD does have stats for larger dragons up to 41 HD, just the SRD indicates these should not be PCs, perhaps because of Frightful
Presence or size.
