I'm rather late to the game in reading D&D lore. I got on board in 2009 and have been reading since. I figured since I posted for the first time yesterday I should introduce myself.

Welcome aboard!

Don't believe the hype that you have to catch up on all the older editions in order to enjoy the Realms. It's been four different places already so far and we're starting a fifth incarnation. There's plenty here for everyone. ...Just don't be like me and demand that all of it be awesome; you'll have a bad day.

I can concur with this. I'm new and started with the Twilight War series. Granted I'm going back and learning a lot of the old lore.

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Well met all.

Truth be told my hunger for lore and backstories was quite insatiable at first. I was the DM of our small band in 2009. But when that dissolved shortly after I was left wanting more. I started with Drizzt. Then to Farideh and Erevis Cale. I landed on Elminster. Since then I have picked up a few books here and there. I seem to have come to a roadblock as I'm all caught up.

I think there are 277 Realms novels published. I'm sure you find something new.
