Well met, one and all! I am Drustan Dwnhaedan, an adventurer of the Forgotten Realms. I realize that I probably should have introduced myself when I registered a couple of days ago, but I got a bit distracted looking for information about Eilistraee (she's rather important to the main character of a series of stories I've been trying write). I apologize for my lack of proper manners, and hope I am forgiven. I'm also new to being on a forum, and other members' advice and patience will be greatly appreciated, and I just realized I still haven't introduced myself properly. My stomach's getting all knotted up when I think of how many people are going to read this, and I'm beginning to prattle on like nutcase, aren't I?
*several deep breaths later* Okay, now for a bit about myself. I'm a 26 year-old D&D gamer who lives in Colorado Springs. My interests are Eilistaree, dark elves, elves in general, Hanali Celanil, Sune, Lliira, Sharess (some of you might have noticed a certain single-minded pattern at this point), saurials, unusual or monstrous races, learning even more about the Realms, talking about my characters, and being snarky. I'm currently trying to write two different sets of stories about my primary character, Drustan Dwnhaedan; the first series is canonically correct (and is depressing the *bleep* out of me), the second is based on Drustan's actual adventures, which are largely too silly/raunchy/ridiculous to even be considered canon, and possibly too raunchy to ever see the light of day. Come to think of it, my 'canon' stories get rather, ah, descriptive about certain things. I'm also trying (and failing spectacularly) to convert my dad's old 1e/1e Advanced world to 3.5 rules, and am trying to write ANOTHER series of tales set in said world. At this point, some of you have probably concluded I'm stark raving mad. You'd be right, but so long as you're all willing to overlook that little flaw, we'll get along fine.
And that's it, basically. Fare ye well, 'til next we meet.

Welcome to Candlekeep!
Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay! |

Welcome indeed. Eilistraee is a rather favorite interest of me as well. I have gotten Ed Greenwood to answer a few questions concerning her and the religion.
Some of Ed's answers are collected at http://eilistraee.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=384 an Eilistraee discussion forum. |
"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." There have been plenty of discussions about Eilistraee and the dark elves recently. You'll fit right in :) |

They always are (though the former hasn't been nearly as easy as the latter). |
