Actually, there's an earlier reference, as I recall.
I'm going from memory, but Mhzentul was first mentioned [along with the events pertaining to Wooly's question] in the 1e FR boxed set.
He's in the OGB, and also in Pages from the Mages -- which is actually quoted, in part, in Volo's Guide to All Things Magical (formerly a suppressed work ). Since he was in Pages from the Mages, there's a fair chance he was also in a Dragon article, even before the OGB. |

Again, I'll let someone else have a crack.
I remember the good old days when there was no Google and you had to wrack your brains and thumb through the sources.
That's why when I came up with my recent question, I made sure that it was Google-proof at first instance.

Who needs Google? :) Teuveamanthaar is a city of Eaerlann, and its capital. |

I remember doing that a great many times back when this challenge was first gaining momentum.
I'll admit that my last question was relatively easy to look up, but I'll also promise that when I next issue a challenge, Google will definitely NOT prove to be any scribe's friend. |

No answer? Time for a hint.
The lieko should be shining as much as the body of water it's found around. |

I thinks it's a coin.....gold?? Or was it hrasted silver!!! (Uthgardt.... Uth... Ult....the origin escapes me)
But I can't recall what's on the front or back.
Hopefully some scribe can take that and finish the answer. |

Now that Red has aimed me at the correct answer, I must ask for clarification of the question... As I see it, there are two correct answers, depending on how you look at it. |

The only answer that springs to my mind is a NORTHERN JOURNEY tidbit referencing a golden lieko as among the coins circulating in Doegan. |

The Red Walker and the Sage are right, the lieko is indeed a gold coin circulating in one realm. The Red Walker is close, but on the very opposite side of the continent. The Sage is much closer.
The image on the back of the coin shows something on the back of something else. What is that first something? |

That's it! The lieko is the gold coin of Ulgarth (not Uthgardt!) in the Shining South, by the Golden Water (hence it shining as much as the body of water ). On the front is an image of King Caladorn the Wise. On the back is a mounted knight, so the knight is on the back of the horse.
All from the 2nd-edition The Shining South and found online only on the Forgotten Realms Wiki.

Thankee. When I found the answer, I was thinking that the knight is on the horse's back -- but he's got armor on his. Thus, my request for clarification. |

George, have you been peeking into my campaign playbook?
I just happened to feature this locale during a set of adventures back in February for my then-recently reconstituted gaming group. |

Considering you're checking sources on the Nelanther and then Hyaline's location, it seems hard to avoid your Faerun-spanning campaign.

The need to push outward, I think.
My players were becoming exhausted with my near-continuous campaigns set in and around the Border Kingdoms. |

It's a Sea Elf settlement in Lake Sember. Score one for drawing too many maps of Cormanthor and the surrounding areas. I should check this thread more often |

Dreams are funny things, the imagined reality of worlds better or worse given shape and scarcely shared, least they break a lonesome spell. What is "Maeral's Dream"?

I seem to recall a very specific question focused on a particular reference about Zakhara in an Al-Qadim product... way back, so I can't see why further Zakharan or Maztican queries can continue to feature again. |
