I found the reference last night, but can't answer yet, because of my own rules!

Charchee is seriously old, though. I was surprised at his age.

Oooh, so very close! Geographically at least.

I'd love to know if Charchee had a girlfriend named Jownie.

How old ARE YOU?

I got the refernce (funny), but I didn't think most would know it.

And you really narrowed down that list there with that hint.

Eagerly awaiting the answer - I've been looking for a truly ancient Lich, and that one gaurding the Calimemnon Crystal isn't quite old enough.

OK, I'm really confused.

Is there a question to be answered, or did Rinonalyrna answer it correctly?

Usually the poster of the question would confirm it... But since he hasn't, I will. Rino was correct, and can ask the next question.

I don't have a page number handy, but Charchee was mentioned in REF5 Lords of Darkness. It doesn't describe him, it just mentions in passing that he's existed in Mulhorand for 3000 years.

I don't know of any other references to him.

It's on pg. 75, in the 'Demi-Lichdom' section.

Yay!

I can't think of an obscure question at the moment, so (since you confirmed my answer), I'll give you the honor of asking the next question.

Alright... I dug up a nice obscure one this time. The next time I get to ask a question, I'll pick something much easier than this one.

According to legend, what did Mahtor Auricheart, a fabled female dwarven dragon-slayer and smith from long-lost Delzoun, forge?

Oh, I remember this one. It's one of my favorite pieces of Schend-crafted Realmslore.

'Twas the Blades of Dragons' Tongue/Blades of Ochir Naal.

And of course the Sage comes along to quickly answer what was intended to be a difficult question...

The blades in question appear in an article entitled "Series Magic" in Dragon 213.

Sage, the next query is yours.

Hmmm, I forgot they were there, too. I was looking in the articles I'd lifted from Dragon for that one.

Unless you are only counting HUMAN Liches...

The ones in Oreme are even older then the one I'm thinking of, by about 20,000 years or so.

Eagerly awaiting your question Sage - I'm sure it will bring 'obscurity' to a whole new level.

Maybe Sage was being subtle...

The use of the word 'tackle' brings Elminster baiting his hook to mind.

He is quite the 'fisherman', you know.

It won't. I just finished work later than expected. And I've only now been able to sit down with my books to find a potential question I can post here.

Okay:-

What was the elven name the River Lis was once known by?

Excellent. The next question is...

Before they built their own keep (since destroyed), the Company of
Crazed Venturers lived here, and it was always their favorite place
to drink.

I'm going to take a stab at this one and say the Dripping Dagger. Isn't that the most popular mercenary/adventurer hangout in Waterdeep anyway?

It is indeed the Inn of the Dripping Dagger. It's a direct quote from page 114 of Volo's Guide to Waterdeep.

I wanted to point out that not only was this recently mentioned in the Ask Ed thread, but that I asked a question about the place myself during the original Trivia Challenge. I held my tongue, though, because I didn't want to give a clue too early.

Kyrene, the next question is yours.

That must have been where it got stuck in my sometimes photographic memory from, since I don't have that particular sourcebook. I must confess, I did do a Google search on "Dripping Dagger" to confirm it was what I was thinking of, not that the search came up with anything concerning the Crazed Adventurers though -- just that it was a popular mercenary hangout with cheaper prices for those down on their luck. So I took a semi-educated guess I suppose.

Anyway, since I love the lore surrounding this particlar NPC so much:
What is the name of the establishment owned by the "Laughing Laundress of Neverwinter"?

If my Google search on "Dripping Dagger" disqualified my answer though, please pass my turn on to someone that is a bit more active on these boards over a weekend anyway.

No, that's fine. We really couldn't enforce it, and Google does help aim people in the right direction.
