Thanks.
I am not sure if this had been asked before. I searched the forum but found nothing. Hope that I did not give an existed question.
It is a three-facets gem-statue: one reads a book, one writes on a scroll, and one is in prayer. What is the name of this statue?
No one has come forth to answer this one, and I've not asked any qestions, of late... So I'm taking this one.
The statue is called the Librarian. It can be found in the Hall of Living Memory, a chamber in a ruined city underneath the Hmur Plateau, in Serôs. It's described on pages 42, 59, and 60 of the Wyrmskull Throne module.
I'll be back later tonight with a question. |

And I now return with a question. 'Tis a bit of lore I stumbled across whilst reading about an hour ago. This shouldn't be too difficult, but may still be fun.
Name the mage on the cover of FR4 The Magister. (There's a pic of the cover here, if you've not got the book. And I do seek a specific name, too. ) |

PM it to me, if you don't mind. There's not too many hints I can readily think of that don't give away the source entirely. |

I know exactly where to find that info, but unfortunately, thats one of the few books I don't have on pdf.
Darn you, Wooly.
I guess I'll have to do it the old-fashioned way... |

There's a point I want to address about the hint first. See my PM.

No wonder I recognized this immediately - you were probably re-reading it thanks to a recent question I asked Ed (regarding the Incipient Clans).
Question coming soon... I have one ready, I just need to find it again... (also awaiting confirmation... just in-case). |

You've got it. And it was indeed your question that made me crack out that book. I decided to use it for a question, and then, while reading about the Incipient Clans, I saw that bit of info. I figured you'd get this one.
I was going to use those Clans as a hint, if I'd need to provide one. I would have said something like "he's got a connection to these specific families". |

Cool... anytime one of my posts makes someone revisit some Ed lore, I feel I've served a purpose.
Here's an odd bit I picked-up about a week ago: Where are the Sword Coast races held?
BTW, I'll need more then "the Sword Coast". |

No takers?
I was away for the weekend (drove over 1300 miles in 3 days), so I'm sorry about not providing a clue.
Hint #1: These races are of particular interest to a certain family in The North. |

"Every year, the Ilzimmer family fields teams at the Sword Coast races outside Baldur's Gate."
That's from p. 14 of Volo's Guide to the North.

This was familar to me so went a hunt'n. Would the answer be, the previous ransar of the city of Innarlith? Pg 152 of the FRCS refers to the name 'Mandalax', although I'm not sure if that is the name of the ex-ransar or another person.
I can't seem to find a source that references the Year of the Tankard though |

I've not yet gone looking for an answer, though I suspect it comes from a certain 2E boxed set. |

That's the only reference I could find too, but the way its worded makes me think that Mandalax wasn't the previous ransar. The Year of the Tankard is covered in Cloak & Dagger, but I couldn't find anything there either... (I have to admit, I didn't read it cover to cover. I wish I had a print copy of C&D) |

Indeed. Initially, I wasn't sure. Then I recalled which 2e boxed set.

Hmm. I suppose that's technically correct, in a "commander-in-chief" kind of way. But I'm actually looking for a person who is explicitly described as the "Commander of the Black Firedrakes" and holds a military-style rank.

Great! I once asked a question in this scroll 'out-of-turn' when I hadn't answered a question (it was a noob mistake).
Therefore, if I may be so bold, I wish to nominate wintermute27 to ask the next question.
Afterall, his answer helped point me in the right direction.
So over to you wintermute27 |

I have a great flip answer for that, but it unfortunately dips into real world matters! |
