Well, the largest population of Dwarves in the realms would be in the Great Rift, it is FAR south near Halruaa and that area its very visible from any FR map...i believe the entire rift is a gutted out dwarven complex...must be a sight!!!!
up until recent times, Evermeet would be the largest concentration of elves, Evermeet was an island in the Sea of Swords across from Waterdeep hunderds of miles...before u get to Maztica...
In the Novel Evermeet:Island of Elves, they have moved away from Evermeet as it was gettin to hard to defend from outsiders...
they have moved north in the Great Glacier or around there, at this point, unless it is marked on the 3rd edition maps, its postition in the realms has not been mapped yet...

A little question concerning the elves: Did all of them leave evermeet or just a expedition to colozine the hidden icekingdom? and will the others follow, when they see that it's safe?

Prince Lamuril was chosen to find a new homeland for the elves, a place were he would plant the tree of Souls. Only few left to go and colonize this new homeland, it is to be only known by elves(of course the same was suppose to be for evermeet as well) I'm sure more and more will go to the Elven settlement as it establishes itself but who would wish to Leave Evermeet except for arvandor itself? Evermeet was created with the help of the Elven Gods this new land is yet to be seen if the gods will ahve anything to do with it other than the tree of souls
When has truth been utterly devoid of paradox? |

I hadnt realised those events in the Evermeet novel! Dont worry, im not saying its ruined it for me to find out before reading it, im just so gutted that the elves have left as i always saw Evermeet as the perfect lush forested land that is the complete image of elven culture, not only in the Realms but also throughout the whole fantasy genre.
Seems a strange place for the elves to move to....north of the Great Glacier..... a bit too cold and inhabitable for elves dont you think?

Even so, elves are usually seen as forest-dwellers and picturing elves in an arctic setting just doesnt seem right.
I assume we will end up seeing an area of lush green land smack bang in between the Great Glacier and the polar cap then?! Oohhhhh this is all sounding so bad!

They will probably make some kind of mythal (sp?), so the cold will hopefully not be a problem.

Elves truly rock, they are more graceful and a more magnificent race of people, and obviously more cultured and even more educated.
Elves belong in woodlands and such and not in no Icy wasteland!
Elves and Dwarves have never got on that well anyway, so heres to the tall clever folk, and down to the twee stumpy ones!

Some one should just go put all the Elvse in a hole, My Dwarfs intend to, one 6 feet down. let see how graceful they are when we turn there faces into mutated but comical(to dwarves) shapes.

Oh come on now, what kind of stupid question is that? Elves will wipe the floor with dwarven beards before the dwarves even come close, why you say? because I like Elves, and whatever I say goes around here, got it? DARK ELVES FOREVER.....The Great Drizzt has spoken, thou shall heed his mighty words!

I do believe The Great Drizzt is getting a little delusional. Not about the dwarves though. On that topic I totally agree with him. Dwarves don't stand a chance against the power of the elves. Not even on their own ground. I don't care how big, strong, smelly (although this might repell the elves from attacking the dwarves? the stronghold maybe. |

First of all, Great Drizzt if you are Drizzt you are suposed to hate dark elves, but thats not the point, the power of the Dwarven crossbows would halve the number of Elves before they reached them, and before you say Elvish bows they would never pentrate the Dwarvish armour effectively enough. |

The elves don't need their bows. They'll use magic to defeat them. If that should not work (which I can hardly believe), they'll use stealth. The dwarves won't even see them coming. But I like the reply you made that Drizzt is supposed to hate the drow, even though he himself is one. |

Every body knows the Dwarvish runes protect there forts from praticaly every form of magic, and the elves could never get in unseen. |

Ok, I know that Drizzt hates drow, I get it, ya laid it on a little thick, but I like drizzt cause hes really the only real famous drow that have alot of books on, its not really Drizzt that I like so much, its the dark elves, which are still ELVES I might add, so im on the elves side, the have stealth, far better magic capabilities, LONG range bows, far better crafted weapons in my opinion, im not saying the dwarves suck entirly, I just think theyre not as good, especially against a Drow raiding party, as a matter of fact, dwarves would rank second in my list of strongholds. Ok guys, take it easy. We dont want this to get out of hand, and a few topics on this forum are beginning to be well off-topic and have become nothing but a slagging match. Please try to keep the insults out of it and get back to the topic to avoid having it locked up. ::swings chain and padlock back and forth::
